Rather than a platter or pancake tutu, the skirt is short and softly flowing, generally created with a double layer of chiffon. This allows the fabric to move freely with the dancer rather than maintaining the rigid horizontal shape of a classical tutu.
Some designs also feature a delicate chiffon scarf draped from one shoulder, adding additional movement and elegance to the costume.
