This highly professional costume was created for the role of Swanilda in "Coppelia" but can also be used for other roles like "La Fille Mal Gardee', "Napoli", "The Fairy Doll", and other peasant roles. Designed by famous ballet designer Chizuru Nakajima for Dancewear by Patricia, this tutu is a little work of art. All the shades of lavender and pale lilac were used to make this tutu look as light as a cloud.
The bodice is made with pale lilac brocade and features the traditional lacing in the front and a white under-shirt to complete the sweet, feminine doll-style look of Swanilda. The sleeves are short and very soft, made with white georgette and white lace. The bodice is richly decorated with darker lilac and violet shiny appliques representing flowers and small leaves.
The tutu skirt is bell shaped and the color fades from lilac to almost white. The "Ombre Dying" or fading color technique has been used to create this fantastic effect. The edges of the skirt are scalloped and decorated with shiny pale lilac sequins. The rest of the skirt is embellished by lilac trims and satin little bow ties.
This tutu is catered for the most demanding dancers and for high level ballet competitions and performances.
